Orange Peel Cinnamon Rolls
How on earth do you cook cinnamon rolls over an open fire without burning them? This genius & easy hack will have you wondering why you'd ever have anything else for camp breakfast.
Ingredients
-
Standard 8 pack of cinnamon rolls
-
4-6 oranges
-
Tin foil
Step 1: Prepare foil
-
Turn 8 medium size sheets of foil into 8 small bowls
Step 2: Prepare oranges
-
Slice 4 oranges in half
-
Scoop out orange flesh using a spoon, leaving behind an empty bowl shaped rind
-
Pro-tip: use leftover orange juice and flesh to make fresh OJ! Or a mimosa, I'm not your boss.
-
-
You should have 8 orange bowls, which you can place directly into your prepared foil bowls
Step 3: Prepare rolls
-
Place one cinnamon roll into each orange bowl with foil
-
Set foil bowls directly on rack above fire pit
-
Pro-tip: warm up the icing by putting it NEAR but not in the fire
-
-
Cook for ~20 minutes (depending on fire heat)
-
Cook thoroughly, the orange peel will protect your cinnamon rolls from burning on the bottom so don't be afraid to let 'em get nice and crispy on top!
-
-
Remove from fire with tongs once cooked
-
Ice your rolls while they're warm, and enjoy your citrus-infused breakfast treat!
